CEFAS: Blue Belt Programme: Conference Series, Brand & Communications
Overview
Ongoing support for the Blue Belt Programme through a conference series and a wide range of brand-led communications. Working with CEFAS, we helped bring the Programme’s marine conservation work to life for audiences across the UK Overseas Territories and beyond.

The Challenge
The Blue Belt Programme works across many regions, audiences and priorities. It needed communications that could explain complex marine science and policy clearly, while still feeling relevant to local communities.
Materials had to work just as well for overseas territories as they did for UK and international stakeholders, without losing consistency or clarity.

The Approach
We developed a flexible Blue Belt Programme brand that could be used across events, reports and day-to-day communications, while still allowing space for local identity and context.
For the annual conference series, we created a clear event look and feel, supported by practical materials that worked in the room and beyond. Alongside this, we produced a wide range of communications designed to make information easy to understand and engaging for different audiences.
Territory-specific materials reflected local marine environments and priorities, helping ensure communications felt relevant and meaningful at a local level, while still clearly part of the wider Blue Belt Programme.
Key deliverables included:
- Blue Belt Programme brand and visual identity
- Conference series branding and event materials
- Promotional assets and email invitations
- Stage backdrops, pop-up stands and venue graphics
- Presenter PowerPoint templates and printed programmes
- Reports and policy brief layouts
- Infographics, maps and diagrams
- Territory-specific leaflets, posters and educational packs

The Impact
The Programme now has a clear, consistent set of materials that are used across the UK Overseas Territories to support conservation, education and public engagement.
The annual report was shared with and signed off by the Royal Household, reflecting the profile and importance of the Blue Belt Programme, while the wider toolkit continues to support events and engagement across regions.
